Demonstration of New Cauliflower Cultivars (2022) 1 page
The objective of this project was to assess the yield potential and quality of cauliflower cultivars for production in Saskatchewan. In the first year of this 2 year project, 13 cultivars of cauliflower were evaluated in a field trial conducted within a commercial field of cauliflower grown by Spring Creek Garden in the Outlook area. The crops were established using transplants in either mid-May or early June. Recommended management practice for irrigated production of cauliflower were followed. The crop was harvested once the heads reached marketable size. Head numbers, weights and quality were assessed.
Although the 2022 growing season was quite favorable and the crop was carefully managed, crop vigor and yields in this trial were only fair.
