We had a great field day on July 8, 2026. We visited Cooks Country Farm first near Asquith SK. Fruit, vegetables, greenhouse and honey. Thanks Dave and Ann Cook

We then had an excellent lunch at Crossmount Cidery, just south of Saskatoon.

After lunch we toured the University of Saskatchewan Horticulture Research Trial right in Saskatoon, SK with Dr. Anze Svara head of the Fruit Program, and saw apples, haskap and Saskatoons. Thanks Dr. AnzeSvara.

The Saskatchewan Vegetable Growers Association board voted to provide these articles for free to anyone interested in them.  Thanks to Dr. Doug Waterer for the 30+ years of research and helping the vegetable industry in Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan Vegetable Growers Association - Annual Field Day

We invite you to join us for our annual Field Day which promises to be a fun filled day with two tours and a picnic lunch, all located around Outlook, SK.

NOTE: Pre-registration is required by contacting Judy at: saskvegetable@agcouncil.ca or by phone (306) 975-6881

The cost for the Field Day is $35 for SVGA members and $50 for non-members.
(To become a SVGA member, the cost is $125 annually)

Our day begins with:
10:00-12:00 - A Tour of Spring Creek Gardens
• Storage Grading Facilities
• Strip Tillage
• Hooded Sprayer
• Research Plots
12:30-1:30 - A Picnic Lunch at CSIDC (meal is included with registration fee)
1:30-3:00 - A Tour of the Canada-Saskatchewan Irrigation Diversification Centre (CSIDC) Research Plots
• Broccoli and Cauliflower Heat Stress
• Sweet Potato Agronomy
• Leafy Greens Agronomy
• Wireworm Control
• Herbicide Screening on Spice Crops
• Integrated Pest Management of Cabbage Root Maggot

*Important* All visitors to CSIDC (Canadian-Saskatchewan Irrigation Diversification Centre) must complete a COVID-19 Vaccination Attestation Form, as per federal regulations. (Judy can send to you prior to the event.)

We have uploaded 86 articles so far, from Dr. Doug Waterer's research for the last 30 years.  Just go to our store, or "PDF Research Download" tab and do a search for whatever veggie, high tunnels, mulch, pest or issue.  The cost is $1-2 per article, and you can download them for up to a year.  The charge will cover the store front, and transaction fees.  Everything is searchable, which should make all the research in Saskatchewan easy to find.  Here's a few samples below, use the search bar or go to the tab.
